Smart Route BD (“the app”) is a free app built by NewAgeDevs. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. It applies to the Android app published as com.newage.bdbusroute.
Smart Route BD is an unofficial, independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any government entity, transport authority or operator.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or address.
- NewAgeDevs does not collect, store or receive any personal information from you.
- Your favourites, recent searches and any transit card you scan stay on your phone. They are never uploaded.
- The app shows ads, and the advertising provider collects device and usage information to serve them. That is the only data collection in the app, and it is described in full below.
Information the app stores on your device
All of this stays on your phone. It is not sent anywhere, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Route data. Timetables, stops and fares ship inside the app. Browsing them does not contact any server.
- Vehicle photos. Bus, launch and train photos are fetched from our image host the first time you view them, then kept on your device so they load again with no connection. The request carries no account, no identifier and nothing about you beyond what any web request carries — your IP address and the name of the photo. Photos are the only thing the app fetches.
- Favourites and recent searches.
- Transit card readings. If you tap an MRT Pass or Rapid Pass, the app reads the card’s balance and recent journeys over NFC and shows them to you.
That reading is stored only on your phone. It is never uploaded, and the app cannot spend from, top up, or make any change to your card. - Settings, such as your dark-mode preference.
Information collected by advertising
The app uses AppLovin MAX to show ads, which may serve ads through mediated advertising networks. To deliver and measure those ads, these providers may collect:
- your device’s advertising identifier
- device and app information, such as model, operating system version and app version
- network information, including your IP address, from which an approximate (city or country level) location can be inferred
- ad interaction events, such as an ad being shown or tapped
This information is collected by the advertising provider, not by NewAgeDevs.
We do not receive it, and we cannot identify you from it.

- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device.
Permissions the app asks for

The app does not request location permission, does not use your camera or microphone, and does not read your contacts, photos, files or messages.
Other services
- Google Play handles app updates and in-app review prompts under Google’s privacy policy.
- Sharing and links. If you share a route or open a link, your device hands that action to the app you pick. What that app does is covered by its own policy.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will act on it.
How to remove your data
Everything the app holds is on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Settings → Apps → Smart Route BD → Storage, removes all of it. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page and take effect when posted. The date at the top shows the current version.
