This policy explains what Force 5G/LTE & Network Monitor (“the app”, “we”, “us”) does with information: what stays on your phone, what leaves it, who receives it and why, and the choices you have. It replaces the policy dated 17 December 2024.
1. The short version
- No account, no sign-in, and no servers of our own. We do not run a backend, and we do not receive your data — except an email you choose to send us.
- The app does not collect personal information about you.
- Your settings and any readings the app takes stay in the app's private storage on your phone.
- Switching network mode is done through your device's own settings screen. The app opens it; it does not change anything behind your back.
- The app is free and shows ads. Ads are served by AppLovin and its partner ad networks, which collect device identifiers and similar data (section 4.1).
- A speed test has to talk to a measurement server, and that server necessarily sees your IP address (section 4.3).
2. What the app does
The app is a network toolkit. It reports the mobile and Wi-Fi network your phone is currently using, measures connection speed, runs ping and port checks, and provides a shortcut to the Android screen where the preferred network mode — 5G (NR only), 4G LTE only, 3G or 2G — can be changed.
Changing that mode is an Android setting, not ours. The app cannot alter it directly; it takes you to the system screen where you make the change yourself.
3. Information kept on your device
The app stores the following in its private storage. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and no other app can read it:
- Your settings and preferences, so the app works the way you set it up.
- Results of speed tests, pings and scans you have run, so you can look back at them.
- Network details the app reads to display — connection type, signal strength, carrier name, IP address on your local network.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no cloud backup and no way for us to restore it.
4. Information that leaves your device
4.1 Advertising
The app shows advertisements provided by AppLovin and the ad networks it mediates. To select and measure ads, these services may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier
- Device information such as model, operating system version and language
- Approximate location derived from your IP address
- Your interactions with the ads shown to you
We do not receive, store or have access to any of it. It is handled by AppLovin and its partner networks under their own policies: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
Your choices. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time under Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device, which also lets you opt out of personalised ads. Doing so does not remove ads, but makes them non-personalised.
If you are in a region covered by the GDPR or a similar law, the app shows a consent screen the first time it runs, and your choice is applied to every later ad request.
4.2 Google Play services
The app uses Google Play Services, which Google uses for app distribution, integrity checks and crash reporting. This is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
4.3 Speed tests and network checks
A speed test works by transferring data to and from a measurement server on the internet. Like any connection you make, that server can see your IP address and the approximate location it implies. We do not run those servers and we do not receive the results — they are shown to you and stored on your phone.
Ping and port checks are sent to whatever address you enter. If you scan a device on your own network, the traffic never leaves your network.
5. Permissions
The app asks only for the permissions it needs to report on your connection — reading the state of your network and its details, and access to the internet itself to run the tests you ask for. Android may ask you to grant location permission before it will reveal Wi-Fi or nearby-cell details; that is an Android requirement for reading those values, and the app uses them only to display your network information on screen. Your location is not stored, and is never sent to us.
You can review and revoke any permission at any time in Android's app settings. Revoking one only limits what the app can show you.
6. What we collect
Nothing, other than what you send us yourself. If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
We have no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service of our own, and no way to identify you.
7. Retention and deletion
Everything the app keeps lives on your phone. Clearing the app's data from Android settings, or uninstalling it, removes all of it immediately. Data held by AppLovin or Google is subject to their own retention policies, linked above.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or erase on request — you already control it all from your own device. For data held by the advertising networks, use the advertising-identifier controls described in section 4.1, or contact those companies directly under their own policies.
If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
10. Security
The app keeps its data in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but since the app holds nothing about you beyond your own settings and readings, there is very little to expose.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
